- A dial-up account is any account
that is not permanently connected to
the internet via a dedicated ISDN or a
frame relay. These accounts are not
leased line or dedicated line
accounts.
- All dial-up accounts are entitled to
unlimited interactive access.
Interactive use is considered to be a
person engaged in the use of the
internet. Leaving the system online
and unattended is not considered
interactive.
- Users who average more than 8 hours
of continuous use a day will be asked
to curb their usage or upgrade to a
dedicated-line account.
- System abuse is strictly prohibited.
Americas Internet may terminate or
modify service immediately and may
bill for any resulting support charges
if the client engages in system abuse.
Following is a list of actions which
are defined to be system abuse. This
list is non-exclusive; any action
about which there is any doubt should
be referred to Americas Internet for
evaluation.
- Actions which constitute system
abuse include, but are not limited to:
- Attempting to circumvent user
authentication or security of a
host, network, or account on
Americas Internet systems or the
Internet at large
("cracking");
- Attempting, in any way, to
interfere with or deny service to
any user or any host on the
Internet;
- The use of ping or email
programs to defeat the idle
timeout setting for dialup accounts. -Sending large numbers
of unsolicited mail messages (i.e.
"junk mail"); this
includes adding or attempting to
add addresses to any mailing list
without explicit positive consent
of the addressee.
- Forwarding or posting
"chain letters"
(multiple forwarding) of any type;
- Attempting to cancel, supersede,
or otherwise interfere with email
or USENET posts other than one's
own;
- Engaging in harassment, whether
through language, frequency, or
size of messages;
- Using an Americas Internet
account or network connection to
collect replies to messages sent
from another provider which
violate these rules or those of
that provider;
- Reselling or hosting user
accounts or providing services to
third parties without Americas
Internet approval.
- Misuse of IRC, including but not
limited to running bots on
unauthorized servers, ping floods
or any other behavior that causes
Americas Internet to be locked out
of a server.

Use Policy is subject to revision
